In the search for balance between the simplicity of perfect order and the beauty of complete chaos, I explore movement within structure with the Entrapment jewellery collection. By combining the geometric mineral, pyrite, with eco silver – which is custom built to entrap and secure the pyrite, highly controlled forms are contrasted by the distressed, file marked silver surface to create an unpredictable or eroded element. The bold sculptural jewellery designs, inspired by the urban surroundings of day-to-day life and architecture, often create a tangled illusion on or off the body. The relationship of the object to the body is central to my design process and wearability is always carefully considered.
